History

The first Anakkara Summer camp was held in Montreal in 2010, but the camp really started in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY in 1998. The Stable Dance and Yoga studio and ArtPage Gallery founded by artists Nandu Vadakkath and Philippa Woolley hosted the first children’s dance and art programs that developed into the first summer camp  in August 1998.

DESCRIPTION

A unique camp where creating art, free time and nature are interwoven through the day.  In the spirit of collaboration, Anakkara is thrilled to work with Académie de Musique NDG for the summer of 2020!

DAILY SCHEDULE

Fine arts in the morning followed by  two hours of outside free time at lunch. Afternoon is quiet time and naps (for those who need it!) and a visual art project. We end the day with a short session of yoga and meditation and talk about “our favourite moments of the day”. Always a challenge for campers and staff to name just ONE!

DAY IN NATURE

Anakkara camp is outdoors all day!  We will go to a local park where we will have a day of nature immersion.

YOGA & MEDITATION

At Anakkara we practise daily…..!

We look forward to your child/children joining us!
